    I am a big fan of Caitlin Moran's noisy, personal and exciting writing and had read the novel 'How to be a girl' a couple summers ago. Moran in the written mode seems unafraid to delve into the taboo.
    What I think I particularly had an issue with was how restrained this film felt in comparison-that and Feldstein's interesting midlands accent; of course. It has genuinely very funny and heartwarming moments but left me feeling unsatifised. Feldstein's performances in Booksmart and Ladybird are excellent and paralleled clearly with traits of Johana yet here- it felt undeveloped.
