I will begin by saying that I believe William Friedkin's The Exorcist is not only one of the best horror films ever made, but also one of the best films in general. So you have to understand how incredibly excited I was when I saw the first trailer for this 2020 sequel/reboot. Then I realized it is directed by David Gordon Green and had flashbacks of the terrible job he did with the last two Halloween entries, so my enthusiasm lessened. However, I remained eager to watch this.

So I watched it and I will say that this is film is a hot mess. It is so bad that I hope it ends up deep in the hot pits of hell where whatever demon possessed the two young actors in this came from.

There are no frights. There is no tension. There is no hint of any soul worth saving. I will now attempt to forget I ever saw this or that it even exists.
