    A bleak, shrill, claustrophobic horror, Alien utilizes its vast emptiness, to create something truly horrifying to the core. Sigourney Weaver's breakout role as the destined "badass" Ellen Ripley, is revolutionary, sparking the trend of female sci-fi protagonists, and influencing fictional female characters as a whole. Alien as a movie, spawned countless successful sequels and video games, making it a classic in its own right, and cementing it's place in cinema history.
