Kong: Skull Island was a visually stunning film which perfectly portrayed the frightening beast in stupendous action sequences and beautiful scenery for the monster to fully thrive. However aside from Kong the other characters in this film fall disappointingly flat with little to no character development; Brie Larson is disgracefully wasted as an anti war "photographer" . Tom Hiddleston was worse than forgettable at times; Samuel L Jackson played a typical Samuel L Jackson performance with nothing else really to it while John C Reilly was for me the best character and the most funny of them all. The characters in this film may be disappointing but that's not what the film is about. Kong is simply superb and the island the movie is based on is stunning constantly throwing new monsters at the audience for us to awe at. Overall Kong:Skull Island played its part as entertaining film without any real character development and with an okay story, but still exciting in its action sequences.
