I was originally drawn to "Boken" because of the lovely Maika Monroe. When I first watched the trailer, I was very intrigued by the films concept.

What would you do if one day you woke up and everyone had disappeared?

The film explores this concept as it follows to young Americans who are on holiday in Iceland when the event occurs. I only had 2 real issues with the film. First, the story has some sizable plot holes and leaves a good bit unknown in the end. Second, at some points, the film does get a bit dull to the point where I felt bored.

"Bokeh" is a very simple yet beautiful film. The way the cinematography and score worked together to highlight the absolute beauty that is Iceland was the main highlight for me. This film is very much an art piece, it just happens to involve an intriguing yet terrifying storyline. It isn't for everyone, but if you appreciate beautiful scenery and visuals, I would recommend checking this one out.
