An exceptional movie . Alec Guinness plays the antithesis of his true self so well in this movie.
John Mills plays his role as a man disturbed having been a prisoner of war and placing his fear of mockery above all things. The supporting cast were excellent too Susannah York and John Fraser with a forbidden love interest, Gordon Jackson and Duncan Macrae all wonderful actors.
I imagine this story follows a post war Highland Regiment with its unique mystique and fraternal traditions vey well. It is one of my favorite movies.0 member like this review.
