  WHAT I LIKED: 'The Last Wish,' finds Puss in Boots is on the last of his nine lives, and this forces him to confront his mortality, first by going to the "old-folks home," of a crazy cat lady to preserve his immortality, but eventually finding peace in the love and kinship in front of him after a daredevil life of adventure and solitude. It's a beautiful story of confronting mortality, and it's made all the more brilliant thanks to the usual dollops of humour and the dazzling animation.
  
  WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: A fair chunk of the plot is padded out with obstacle courses and tangents, but it's still a pretty lean film overall.
  
  VERDICT: 'Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,' is a surprisingly touching story about confronting your mortality and focusing on what's in front of you.
