  • So I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I’ve pretty much lost all hope for M. Night Shamalayan, but Split was pretty good because of James McAvoy’s great performance, and this is Split 2. I seriously doubt that there was any intention on the part of Shamalayan to create a cinematic universe back when Unbreakable came out. He was capitalizing on a current trend. As a Split 2 storyline with the Unbreakable characters featuring as supporting players, it was good. I liked that it didn’t try to be a big budget action film. It was heavy on exposition and wasn’t afraid to be quiet.
