I SELL THE DEAD is a true gem that is unfortunately very underrated and invisible to the majority of film-goers.

I Sell The Dead stars Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) in a story about 18th Century grave-robbers who are caught and are about to meet their fate for their heinous crimes. Arthur Blake (Monaghan) is confessing his tales and sins to Father Duffy (Perlman) and we experience such tales along with Duffy. All tales told are truly awesome.

These horror-comedy include grave-robbing, zombies, aliens, vampires, and other ghoulish delights. This film is as frightening as it is funny and more than makes up for the obvious low-budget. With a running time of 85-minutes, it is a fast-paced delight.

Much of the story may come off as choppy and episodic, but the performances more than make up for any of its short-comings. Fans of the genre will highly enjoy this. It may be hit-or-miss with others.

I enjoyed the make-up and special fx. As mentioned, its a low-budget film, but all involved prove to be very efficient with what little they have to work with.

There were moments I found frightening, but there were several where I found myself laughing hysterically. Especially in one scene that involves a reveal that is only possible to the characters. Its their reaction to the reveal that is priceless.

I highly recommend I Sell The Dead to all fans of the genre and to anyone else who is willing to give this a chance.
