Terminator, despite being such a behemoth of a franchise now, began as a B-Movie! Seriously! If you haven't seen this film in a while, watch it again and keep that in mind. This may be down to many imitations following The Terminator, (Lady Terminator "First she mates, then she exterminates") but its B-Movie quality is undeniable. Yet, it would be foolish to assume this was a bad thing. This only contributes to the fun of the film. It somehow manages to perfectly balance itself tonally. Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) is a truly sympathetic hero and The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is an intimidating force, but it can be equally hilarious and the action is a non-stop thrill ride.

The number of times I shouted "Yeah!" while watching was unquantifiable and with every brutal kill and witty quip my beam grew and grew. The Terminator is everything you want from B-Movie but with more budget and a more than competent filmmaker behind the lens. Will I watch the sequel? Well... I'll be back.
