I didn't like Annabelle: Creation. Having loved the first film, I was greatly disappointed with this prequel. You get no qualms from me when a film is allowed to take its time to build mood, character, story. But it seemed like Annabelle: Creation took forever to get going. And when it finally did, I had lost interest. There were a few scenes/moments that were effective. But certainly not enough. And one that involved a scarecrow could've been so much more. And Lulu Wilson, such a standout in Ouija: Origin Of Evil, was a distraction for me here. I kept asking myself: Is that the girl from...? Annabelle: Creation is supposed to function as a prequel and also as a introduction to another Conjuring universe--The Nun. (The protagonist here is called Sister Charlotte.) I hope it offers more substance than this. Rent it.
