"Hunting Grounds" follows a father and son who are forced to move into an off the grid mountain cabin after a tragedy that occurs in their life. When out hunting one weekend, they encounter a tribe of Sasquatch that will do anything to protect their land.

For the first 20 minutes of this film, I was intrigued. The father and son had a very believable chemistry and the wilderness setting was well shot and beautiful. Unfortunately, that is it for the positives. The film started to fall apart as soon as Sergio, who was played by David Saucedo, stepped on screen. His character is so annoying and over the top, that it just completely killed the tone of the film and caused it to cross over into the eye rolling ridiculous territory.

The film continued its spiral out of control once the Sasquatch showed up. The filmmakers used practical effects for the Sasquatch, which I would normally praise them for, but the costume design is absolutely horrendous. The Sasquatch look exactly like what they are, a tall person wearing a cheap halloween costume. They were not scary in the slightest.

"Hunting Grounds" is total garbage. By about the half way point, I was ready to turn it off, but I suffered through it in the hopes that it might come back around and recover itself (It didn't). I give "Hunting Grounds" a 2 out of 10.
