Joker is a masterful film in one key way. It makes you think. It's wonderful artistry stems from incredible acting( specifically from Joaquin Phoenix) and a tight story structure. There are times where this film feels incredibly intimate in all the wrong ways which makes it so compelling. It can be deep, profoundly uncomfortable, and quite thought provoking. However, what restricts it from truly being a masterpiece is almost a lack of subtlety that prohibits the conversation of this film to reach even more though provoking heights. It still stands to seem like an incredibly influential film for this decade.
