  • I never caught up with Joe Cornish's debut Attack the Block despite hearing good things about it. I'm afraid that his sophomore effort does not make me eager to check it out. Besides a delightful Merlin, often portrayed by Patrick Stewart wearing a Led Zepplin t-shirt, the rest of the cast is mediocre. The lead, played by Andy Serkis' son, has potential but was largely uninspiring.

This was an adequate family film with a good message about honoring those you love, not being careless in your actions, being honest in your dealings, and persevering in the cause of good. Overall, a message that we need to follow today.
