This film took my expectations, spun them around a couple of times and then left them to vomit on their own shoes because this film is terrible but not in the way that anyone could ever predict.

Of course, the film wasn't intended to be a sequel to the first film, which I adore. In normal circumstances, I would judge it as its own creation BUT because the box so adoringly screams 'the sequel to the HIT film' I must compare it to its precursor.

This film is a nickelodeon feature film that has had a car crash with American Psycho, leaving charred remains and people crying in its wake. There are many crimes at play here whether it be Mila Kunis horrendously flat, unfunny performance, the plot which makes absolutely no sense, the shameless tenuous connection to the original or the choice to make American Psycho 2 a teen high school comedy, all of which are equally guilty. Yet, there is one that stands above them all as most guilty, the real psycho at play...Norman Orenstein!

Mr. Orenstein did the music for this film and I cannot stress how terribly misunderstood it is. If this was a straight-up Nickolodeon movie then Mr. Orenstein nailed it. But it isn't. Our protagonist is a murderous psychopath which is the main plot of the film. Yet, somehow, Mr. Orenstein seems to miss that little story beat and scores the film with a circus-Esque, comedy score which romps and plumps throughout every moment from brutal killings to ear curlingly unfunny debates.

Saying all that, the film didn't irritate me. I actually rather enjoyed the off-kilter sequel to one of my favourite films. Watch it if you want a baffling piece of film or if you enjoyed I-Carly.
